袁日初，袁家班中的一位，袁小田之子，袁和平袁祥仁的兄弟。与几位兄长一样，袁日初在家学艺后出道也是做武师，他就较为幸运，先是跟袁和平等人做武指，没几年，“和平电影”成立，摄制电影需要主角，袁和平看中这位身手不凡灵活瘦小的弟弟，决定力捧为功夫新星。

当时袁家班在电影题材功夫设计上绞尽脑汁玩尽花样，袁日初使出浑身解数，但《奇门遁甲》、《天师撞邪》、《鬼马天师》等几部民初功夫片、奇幻神怪片下来，袁日初并没有大红大紫，等到外型更好的甄子丹到来之后，袁家班也就转移了力捧对象，袁日初从此坐到了二三号位置上。

作为袁和平的亲兄弟，但是都没有捧红他，却输在颜值上面，你说气人不气人。如果袁日初长相再英俊那么一点点，身材再高大那么一点点，或许之后也没甄子丹什么事了，最后袁日初出人意料的入了道观做了道士。

1989年袁和平执导了《皇家师姐4直击证人》，这也是《皇家师姐》系列阵容最强大的一部，前面两部是由杨紫琼主演的，后来跑去结婚了没有时间拍片.

从第三部开始就是杨丽菁主演，她也是凭借这两部电影，奠定香港电影界“一代打女”的地位，并被誉为“杨紫琼接班人”。

一语成谶。88还是比尤里卡给力。出片子不藏着。希望僵尸系列88可以来一套洗洗。僵尸家族，灵幻先生的画质太差了
